Songs for Japan

EMI Group logo.Image via Wikipedia"Songs for Japan ', humanitarian album which was released in order to raise funds for victims of natural disasters after Japan diluluhlantakkan by the earthquake and tsunami this month, rocketed to the top of the top iTunes charts in 18 countries.

By featuring artists such as John Lennon ("Imagine"), U2 ("Walk On") and Lady Gaga ("Born This Way"), the album contains 38 songs in the market since Friday last week with a price of 9.99 dollars per album U.S..

EMI Music, Sony Music, Universal and Warner Music to produce the songs for the album, while the CD version will be released starting April 4.

According to iTunes, as quoted by Reuters, the album has climbed to the top album in 18 countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Australia, Sweden and Japan.

Proceeds from sales of the album will be distributed to Red Cross society of Japan, while supporting artists, producers and iTunes will share some of the royalties and revenues.
