Eric ClaptonCover of Eric ClaptonPrice auction 75 guitars and 55 amplifiers Eric Clapton rose to 2.15 million U.S. dollars when auctioned by Bonhams in New York on Wednesday. Prices rose more than three times higher than previous estimates.

Results from the sale of alcohol would be channeled to the rehabilitation of the Crossroads Center in the Caribbean, as quoted by Reuters.

Total auction without a buyer's premium of about 1.8 million U.S. dollars and selling it includes instruments donated by friend singer Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, JJ Cale and Joe Bonamassa.

1948 Gibson L-5P auctioned to the highest price, the guitar was first released with the U.S. dollar 20-30000 then increased to 82.960 U.S. dollars. A Zemaitis guitar S22BP 3S released in 2005 alone amounted to 12-18000 and sold at 75,640 U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, sales fell the most expensive in the Twin Amplifier Fender Amps in 1997, was released for 9-12000 Amplifier U.S. dollars, and sold for 42,700 dollars.

"Eric Clapton inspired many fans, many of them (fans) go to Bonhams in New York just to follow the incredible auction," said Jon Baddeley, head of collections at Bonhams.

"We are pleased to help fundraising Crossroads Center, a charity with a noble mission is the desirability of Eric."

But Clapton was unable to attend due to schedule a gig in Los Angeles, Clapton is considered as one of the greatest guitarists in rock history, and he was known as a solo artist and its collaboration with The Yardbirds and Cream.
